Wuhan, Hubei🇨🇳 The Largest Megacity in Central China (4K HDR)
Hankou (汉口), historically romanized as Hankow, was one of the three towns merged to form modern-day Wuhan (武汉), the capital of Hubei Province (湖北省), China. Situated north of the Han (汉江) and Yangtze Rivers (长江), Hankou served as a crucial port and commercial hub, connecting by bridges to its sister towns, Hanyang (汉阳) and Wuchang (武昌), across the rivers.
Originally under the administration of Hanyang during the Ming to late Qing dynasties, Hankou emerged as one of China's four major national markets by the Ming era. It gained independence as a city in 1926, briefly becoming the seat of the national capital with Wuchang and Hanyang during the Northern Expedition. However, it reverted to its city status when Nanjing became the national capital in 1927. Before its merger into Wuhan in 1949, ...

Wuhan once consisted of three cities; Hanyang, Hankou (formerly known as Hankow), and Wuchang. Hanyang was a busy port as long as 2,000 years ago in the Han Dynasty. Yellow Crane Tower was built in 223 BCE and gained fame throughout China through the poetry of Cui Hao during the Tang Dynasty. Wuchang has been a center of learning for centuries, especially in the field of the arts. It became a provincial capital in the Yuan Dynasty.
Hankou was considered to be one of China's top four cities during the Ming and Qing Dynasties. It was the busiest inland port, first opened as a treaty port in 1861. During the 19th century, as a result of concessions granted in the aftermath of the Opium Wars, large areas of Hankou's riverfront were carved up into foreign mercantile divisions with port and rail facilities and the area's economy expanded rapidly. There remain many grand buildings along Hankou's riverfront clearly European in design as a result
Wuhan is an interesting large city, plum in the center of the heavily-populated half of China. It once felt less modernized than China’s coastal cities, but it is now one of China’s main high-tech, education, and financial centers.
It has long been a transportation hub, because it is in the middle of the long navigable part of the Yangtze River between Shanghai and Chongqing.
This city has a certain historical charm about it, and has been a key city since the Warring States Period (481–221 BC) due to its location. The people are unusually friendly compared to those in other cities. And, if you have a longer Yangtze cruise, or a north-south train journey, you might really enjoy stopping there.

Before its merger into Wuhan in 1949, Hankou transitioned between being a special municipality and a provincial city.
Hankou was historically significant for its foreign concessions from the United Kingdom, France, Russia, Germany, and Japan, which contributed to its development and international trade. The city played a pivotal role during the 1911 revolution that led to the establishment of the Republic of China, and it was a strategic location during various military and revolutionary periods, including the Boxer Rebellion and the Japanese invasion in 1938.
Today, "Hankou" refers to the area within Wuhan north of the Yangtze and Han Rivers, encompassing parts of Jiang'an District (江岸区), Jianghan District (江汉区), and Qiaokou District (硚口区). Despite the administrative changes, the name Hankou remains a significant part of Wuhan's historical and cultural identity.

On festivals, millions of visitors come in flood, enjoying the happiness of shopping.
Optics Valley Walking Street has become the best place for entertainment and tourism.
Foreign visitors will surely come to this street when they come to Wuhan.
The grandest cinema, Tianhe Huanyi Cinema City in Wuhan, is in collaboration with the giant entertainment in China, which shows its brand and grade very well.
Watching Focus
The whole street is made up of four building complex, from west to the east, there are American-like modern building, warmly Spain architecture and the innocent Northern European malls, as well as the classic England design.
Adopting the essence of the buildings in all over the countries, buildings here are representatives of buildings in the world, integrating advertisement, pillar decoration and brand of stores as a whole. Visitors and customers will experience a feeling of crossing-borders, as if they have never finished their shopping tour.
Adopting multi-color lights in the largest scale in the world, to create world-class sky in the evening, Wuhan is extremely beautiful at night when the special designed lights turn on, forming a piece of sparkling sliver river.
